About the Game

Kiwi Cat Express is an original snake-style casual game from Kiwi Cat Games. Kiwi Cat drives a kiwi-green toy engine that keeps rolling forward across a tiled map, and you steer it. Every time it eats a fish snack, a kitten on a cushioned carriage hooks onto the end of the train.

Each kitten that hops aboard has a random coat – ginger, black, calico, tabby and more, 8 in all – and wags its tail as it rides. The longer the train, the faster it goes and the less room you have to turn. Every now and then a golden can appears for a limited time; grab it for big points.

There are three maps: Park Path, Back Alley and Cat Café. Higher best scores unlock more maps. A game takes about 1 to 5 minutes and your high score is saved in your browser. All characters, maps and sounds were drawn and synthesized in code by Kiwi Cat Games.

How to Play Kiwi Cat Express

1. Press Start Game. The Kiwi Cat engine sets off with two kittens and keeps moving forward.
2. Swipe or use the arrow keys to turn the train toward the fish snacks on the ground.
3. Each fish snack is worth 10 points and adds a kitten to the back of the train. Every 4 snacks, the train speeds up.
4. When a golden can appears, hurry – it only stays for 7 seconds and is worth 50 points.
5. Crash into a wall, an obstacle or your own train and the game ends.

Controls

Phone and tablet

• Swipe up, down, left or right and the train turns that way. One gesture can turn twice in a row (for example right, then up).
• You can also use the four arrow buttons at the bottom of the screen.
• Top right pauses the game or mutes the sound.

Computer

• Turn with the arrow keys or W, A, S, D.
• Quickly pressing two directions runs them in order without dropping one, and the train will never reverse straight into itself.
• Top right pauses the game or mutes the sound.

Tips and Strategy

• Loop around the outer edge of the map and keep the middle open, so a long train doesn't trap itself.
• Turn early: the game remembers up to 3 upcoming turns. For an emergency U-turn, press two directions quickly (for example right, down).
• If the golden can is too far away or you'd have to cut across your own train, let it go. Surviving matters more.
• Once the speed goes up, stick to long straight lines and avoid lots of turns in tight spaces.
• Back Alley and Cat Café have obstacles. Look at the gaps between them before you choose a route.
