About the Game
Kiwi Cat Yarn Bounce is an original brick breaker from Kiwi Cat Games. At the bottom of the screen is the mascot Kiwi Cat's white paw. Move it left and right to bounce a pink yarn ball back up, and every brick it hits breaks. Here the bricks are cat-food cans lying on their sides – clear every can on the screen to finish the level.
There are 25 levels, and in each one the cans form a different cat-themed picture: a fishbone, a white cat's head, a paw print, a kiwi slice, a yarn ball, a cat in a box, and finally Kiwi Cat's big face. Regular cans break in 1 hit, cans with a gold band take 2, and gray steel cans take 3. In later levels the yarn ball flies faster and there are more tough cans.
Gift cans tied with a pink ribbon always drop a power-up when they break, and regular cans sometimes do too. Catch a power-up with the paw to widen the paw, split the yarn ball into three, slow the ball down, or use silvervine to let the ball blast straight through cans for a short time. You have 3 lives per level, and the lives you have left when you clear it are your stars. Progress and stars are saved in your browser. Every can, yarn ball, paw and sound was drawn and synthesized in code by Kiwi Cat Games.
How to Play Kiwi Cat Yarn Bounce
- Press Start Game and pick a level from the list (only level 1 is open at first; each win unlocks the next). Look at the level's picture, then press Start.
- The yarn ball starts on the paw. Tap the screen (or press Space on a computer) to launch it.
- Move the paw left and right to catch the falling yarn ball and bounce it back. Hitting the middle of the paw sends it straight up; the closer to the edge, the steeper the angle – use that to aim at the cans that are left.
- Clear every can on the screen to finish the level. Gift cans drop power-ups when they break; catch them with the paw to use them.
- If every yarn ball falls past the paw, you lose a life. Lose all 3 and you can try the level again.
Controls
Phone and tablet
- Slide your finger left or right anywhere on the screen and the paw moves the same distance, so your finger never covers the paw or the ball.
- Tap the screen to launch the ball.
- Top left goes back to the level list; top right pauses or mutes.
Computer
- Move the mouse and the paw follows it left and right; click to launch the ball.
- You can also move the paw with ← → (or A and D) and press Space to launch.
- Top left goes back to the level list; top right pauses or mutes.
Tips and Strategy
- Catching the ball with the edge of the paw sends it at an angle. To hit cans on the left, use the right half of the paw; for cans on the right, use the left half.
- Try to get the yarn ball above the cans. It'll bounce between the ceiling and the cans and break several at once.
- Go for gift cans first. The wide paw and slow ball make catching easier; the triple ball and silvervine clear big areas fast.
- When a power-up falls, check where the yarn ball is first and only go for it if you have time. Don't lose the ball chasing a power-up.
- You only get three stars if you don't lose a life. When just a few cans are left, there's no hurry – take your time and aim.
FAQ
Can I play a brick breaker online without downloading anything?
Yes – Kiwi Cat Yarn Bounce runs in your browser. Open this page and press Start Game on your phone or computer. No app, no sign-up.
Is Kiwi Cat Yarn Bounce free?
Yes, completely free. All 25 levels are playable, and if you run out of lives you can try again right away.
How many levels are there?
There are 25 levels, each with cans arranged in a different cat picture, getting harder as you go. Clearing a level unlocks the next, each level awards up to 3 stars, and three stars everywhere makes 75.
What power-ups are there, and how do I get them?
Gift cans tied with a pink ribbon always drop a power-up, and regular cans sometimes do. Catch it with the paw to use it. The wide paw lasts 15 seconds, the extra ball splits the yarn ball into three, the slow ball slows it down for 10 seconds, and silvervine lets it pass straight through cans for 6 seconds.
How are stars counted? How do I get three stars?
Your stars equal the lives you have left when you clear the level: no lives lost is three stars, one lost is two stars, and finishing on your last life is one star.
Is my progress saved? Will I lose it if I switch phones?
Your cleared levels, stars and best score per level are saved in your own browser – no login needed. Clearing browser data, using private browsing or switching devices resets them.
I can't hit the last one or two cans. What should I do?
Use the edge of the paw to change the angle and aim at the cans that are left. If you go a long time without hitting a can, Kiwi Cat quietly helps by nudging the yarn ball toward one.
What ages is Kiwi Cat Yarn Bounce suitable for?
There's no violence or inappropriate content, and the rules are simple, so kids and adults can both jump right in.
