About the Game

Kiwi Cat Purr Match is an original match-3 puzzle from Kiwi Cat Games. The board holds 6 kinds of cat items: fish, yarn balls, bells, paws, milk and cat wands. Swap two neighboring items so that 3 or more of the same kind line up horizontally or vertically, and they clear. New items drop in from above, and they may set off a chain reaction.

The first 30 levels are hand-designed tutorial levels. From level 31 on, levels are generated by the game from the level number, with no upper limit – and the same level always has the same goal and move count. Every level has a move limit and a goal, such as “collect 15 fish,” “open every box” or “reach 2,600 points,” plus combinations of boxes and collecting. Every 5th level is a challenge level with fewer moves, followed by an easier relaxing level. Difficulty rises gradually and then levels off. Moves you have left at the end turn into bonus points, and a higher score earns more stars (up to 3).

Match 4, make an L or T shape, or match 5 to create three special pieces: the Cat Claw, the Purr Ring and the Kiwi. Swap two special pieces together for even stronger combos. Every 10 levels is a milestone that rewards a new look for Kiwi Cat (like a bow, round glasses or a little crown) or a new background, which you can switch to any time in the Closet. Progress, stars and outfits are saved in your browser; press Continue next time to pick up where you left off. All the items, accessories, backgrounds and sounds were drawn and synthesized in code by Kiwi Cat Games.

How to Play Kiwi Cat Purr Match

  1. Press Start Game to open the level map. Press Continue to resume your last level, or scroll the map to choose one (each win unlocks the next). Check the goal and move count, then press Start.
  2. Swap two neighboring items so 3 or more of the same kind line up horizontally or vertically – they clear and you score. A swap that doesn't make a line swaps back without costing a move.
  3. After a clear, new items fall from above. If they line up again, that's a chain, and every chain multiplies your score.
  4. Match 4 for a Cat Claw (clears a whole line), make an L or T for a Purr Ring (clears the 3×3 around it), and match 5 for a Kiwi (swap it with any item to clear every item of that kind).
  5. Complete all the goals at the top before you run out of moves to clear the level. If you run out, try again. Every 10 levels earns Kiwi Cat a new outfit or background.

Controls

Phone and tablet

  • Press an item and swipe up, down, left or right to swap it with its neighbor in that direction.
  • You can also tap the item you want to move, then tap the neighbor to swap with.
  • Top left goes back to the level map; top right pauses or mutes.

Tips and Strategy

  • Read the goal first. Clear the items you need to collect; other matches only add points.
  • Make matches near the bottom of the board. Falling items are more likely to set off chains – several moves' worth of clearing for one move.
  • When you can match 4 or 5, make the special piece first and use it later. It's worth far more than a plain match of 3.
  • Special pieces combine: two Cat Claws clear a cross, a Claw plus a Purr Ring clears three rows and three columns, and a Kiwi plus a Claw turns every item of one kind into Claws.
  • Boxes only open when you make matches next to them or hit them with a special piece. On box-heavy levels, save a Cat Claw to clear a whole row of boxes at once.
  • On challenge levels (marked with pink claw scratches on the map), don't rush. Spending a move or two to build a Claw or Purr Ring usually saves moves overall.
  • Pause for a few seconds and two items will wiggle to show you a possible swap.

FAQ

Can I play a match-3 game online without downloading anything?

Yes – Kiwi Cat Purr Match runs in your browser. Open this page and press Start Game on your phone or computer. No app, no sign-up.

Is Kiwi Cat Purr Match free?

Yes, completely free, and every level is playable. If you run out of moves, just press Try Again.

How many levels are there? Are there endless levels?

Yes. The first 30 are hand-designed tutorial levels, and from level 31 levels are generated from the level number with no upper limit. Difficulty rises gradually and stops increasing around level 180. Every 5th level is a harder challenge level, and the one after it is a relaxing level.

What are challenge levels and milestone rewards?

Levels with pink claw scratches on the map are challenge levels (every 5th level), with fewer moves, so you'll want more special pieces. Every 10th level is a milestone, marked with a gift box: clear it to earn a new outfit or background for Kiwi Cat, which you can put on in the Closet on the level map. Once you've collected every outfit and background, later milestones award Kiwi Medals.

What happens when I match 4 or 5? How do special pieces work?

Matching 4 makes a Cat Claw, which clears a whole line when triggered (swap sideways to make one that clears the row, swap up or down to make one that clears the column). An L or T shape makes a Purr Ring, which clears the 3×3 around it. Matching 5 makes a Kiwi: swap it with any item to clear every item of that kind. Special pieces trigger when they're cleared or caught in another special piece's blast.

Is my progress saved? Will I lose it if I switch phones?

Your cleared levels, stars, best scores and chosen outfit are saved in your own browser – no login needed – and Continue takes you back to your last level. Clearing browser data, using private browsing or switching devices resets them.

I'm stuck on a level. What should I do?

Focus on collecting the goal items and make more special pieces – a match of 4, an L or a T is worth an extra move. Every start is a different board, so a few retries usually give you a better opening.

What ages is Kiwi Cat Purr Match suitable for?

There's no violence or inappropriate content, and the rules are simple, so kids and adults can both jump right in.
