About the Game

Kiwi Cat Nest Blocks is an original block puzzle from Kiwi Cat Games. In the middle of the screen is an 8×8 cat nest, and below it you get 3 cat-cushion pieces in different shapes. Drag them into the nest; when a row or column is completely filled, those cushions clear away and you score points.

Pieces can't be rotated and don't fall – they go exactly where you put them. You only get 3 new pieces after placing all 3, so plan where each one goes and leave room for what comes next. When none of the remaining pieces fit, the game is over.

Pieces range from 1 to 5 squares, including corners, a cross-shaped paw, a cat bed and a diagonal yarn ball, in white-cat, gray-cat, ginger, kiwi-green and pink colors. All art and sound were drawn and synthesized in code by Kiwi Cat Games, and your high score is saved in your browser.

How to Play Kiwi Cat Nest Blocks

1. Press Start Game. Three cat-cushion pieces appear in the tray at the bottom.
2. Drag a piece onto the 8×8 nest. A shadow shows where it will land; let go to place it. Pieces can't be rotated.
3. Fill a whole row or column to clear it and score. Clearing 2 or more lines at once is a combo, and clearing on several placements in a row builds a streak – both give bonus points.
4. After you place all 3 pieces, you get 3 new ones. Empty the whole nest for a 100-point bonus.
5. The game ends when none of your remaining pieces fit in the nest.

Controls

Phone and tablet

• Press a piece in the tray and drag it onto the nest. The piece floats just above your finger so you can see it.
• The faint shadow shows where it will land, and lines about to clear glow pink. Lift your finger to place it.
• Let go somewhere it doesn't fit and it flies back to the tray. Top right pauses or mutes.

Computer

• Click and hold a piece, drag it onto the nest and release.
• Keyboard works too: 1, 2 or 3 picks a piece, arrow keys move it, Enter or Space places it, Esc cancels.
• Top right pauses or mutes.

Tips and Strategy

• Place big pieces first and small ones last. Large pieces like the 5-long cushion and the big corner get harder to fit the longer you wait; small ones fill gaps easily.
• Keep the nest flat. Avoid single-square holes boxed in on every side – only the tiniest piece can fill them.
• Leave a whole row or column open for long pieces. Completing a row and a column at the same time earns a combo bonus.
• Check all 3 pieces before placing. A faded piece in the tray doesn't fit anywhere right now, so make space for it first.
• Clearing lines on consecutive placements builds a streak bonus, so try to clear something every move instead of rushing.
