About the Game

Kiwi Cat Merge is an original merge puzzle from Kiwi Cat Games starring 11 round, squishy cats. It starts with Mimi, a tiny gray kitten. Whenever two identical cats touch, they merge into the next, bigger cat, and the final goal is to create Kiwi Cat itself, the site's mascot.

The cats drop into a kiwi-green cat bed where they roll and push against each other, so where you drop each one really matters. There's a pink warning line near the top: if the cats pile up above it for too long, the game is over.

A game lasts about 3 to 10 minutes. Your high score and the biggest cat you've ever made are saved in your browser. Every cat design and sound effect was drawn and synthesized in code by Kiwi Cat Games.

How to Play Kiwi Cat Merge

  1. Press Start Game. A cat appears at the top, ready to drop, and the Next box shows the one after it.
  2. Move left or right to choose a spot, then let go and the cat falls into the cat bed below.
  3. When two identical cats touch, they merge into the next size up and you score points. Merging again quickly makes a chain for bonus points.
  4. Keep merging bigger cats. The biggest is Kiwi Cat itself – and when two Kiwi Cats meet, they throw a party for a big prize.
  5. If any cat stays above the pink warning line for about 3 seconds, the game ends.

Controls

Phone and tablet

  • Press and drag left or right to move the cat you're about to drop.
  • Lift your finger to drop it, or just tap a spot to drop it there.
  • Top right pauses the game or mutes the sound.

Computer

  • Move the mouse to aim and click to drop the cat.
  • Keyboard works too: left and right arrows (or A and D) to move; Space, Down or Enter to drop.
  • Top right pauses the game or mutes the sound.

Tips and Strategy

  • Keep the big cats on one side of the bed (say, the bottom left) and the small ones on the other, so matching cats end up next to each other.
  • Check the Next cat before you drop and leave room for it. Don't let small cats get trapped under big ones.
  • A freshly merged cat bounces a little and can bump into its neighbors, setting off a chain. Longer chains score more.
  • The evolution chart at the bottom shows the cats you've made. The ones you haven't made yet are faint silhouettes – aim for the next one.
  • When the warning line starts flashing and counting down, quickly drop a cat that can merge so the stack at the top comes down.

FAQ

Can I play a merge game online without downloading anything?

Yes – Kiwi Cat Merge runs in your browser. Open this page and press Start Game on your phone or computer. No app, no sign-up.

Is Kiwi Cat Merge free?

Yes, it's completely free with no download or sign-up, and you can start a new game right after one ends.

How many cats are there, and which is the biggest?

There are 11. From smallest to largest: Mimi, Speckles, Latte, Coal, Calico, Tigress, Tuxedo, Siamese, Bubbles, Blue, and finally Kiwi Cat itself.

How do I lose?

There's a pink warning line above the cat bed. If the top of any cat stays above it for about 3 seconds, the game ends. A cat that has just been dropped and is still falling doesn't count.

Is my high score saved?

Yes. Your high score and the biggest cat you've made are saved in your own browser – no login needed. Clearing browser data or switching devices resets them.

How do I get a high score in a merge game?

Group the big cats along one side and the small ones on the other so matching cats line up, and make the most of chains: merging several times in quick succession earns a bonus each time.

What ages is Kiwi Cat Merge suitable for?

There's no violence or inappropriate content, so it's suitable for players of any age.
